What a link-in-bio profile is

Your NILify profile is the one link you put in every bio — Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, even your school roster page. It pulls together your story, stats, highlights, sponsors, merch store, booking, and recruiting info into one fast, mobile-first page.

Your page lives at www.nilify.ai/{handle}. Pick your handle once and you can change everything else later without breaking your link.

Claim your handle

Your handle is the last part of your URL. Rules:

  • Lowercase letters, numbers, _ and -
  • 2-32 characters
  • Has to be unique across NILify

As you type, we check availability live. If your first pick is taken, we suggest 3-4 close alternatives — tap one to claim it instantly.

Tip: short and memorable beats clever. @yourname > @xx_baller_2026_xx.

Add the basics in the Editor

Open /editor and fill in the Identity card at the top:

  • Name — how coaches and brands will see you
  • Sport & position — pick from the list so you show up in search
  • School / club — autocomplete pulls from our schools database
  • Hometown — city + state, for recruiting + brand discovery
  • Date of birth — required to earn on NIL (drives the parent-approval rules)
  • Avatar — upload a photo, then crop it to a clean square

Everything saves as you type. You can come back to any field later.

Add your sections

Sections are the building blocks of your page. Tap Add section and pick from:

  • Highlights — Hudl, YouTube, or direct video links
  • Stats — season + career stats, auto-formatted by sport
  • Sponsors — show off NIL deals with logos and a one-line note
  • Shop — your merch store, embedded
  • Booking — accept shoutouts, mentoring, or appearances
  • Socials — IG, TikTok, X, YouTube — auto-fetches follower counts
  • About — a short bio in your own words

Drag to reorder. Hide a section with the eye icon — that's faster than deleting if you want to bring it back later.

Watch your profile strength

The strength meter at the top of the editor scores how complete your page is. It's the same signal coaches and brands see — a complete profile gets dramatically more inbound interest.

Suggestions are stack-ranked by impact. Knock out the top one first.

Parent approval (if you're under 18)

NCAA and state NIL rules require a parent or guardian to approve your profile and set up your payout account before your page goes public or you can earn money. NILify guides you through it — here's exactly what happens.

8a. The dashboard reminder

When you're under 18, your dashboard shows a yellow Parent approval needed card with a checklist of the two steps your parent has to finish.

You're under 18. A parent must sign consent and set up payouts.

  • Sign consent agreement
  • Complete payout setup

8b. Send the approval link

Add your parent's mobile and email. NILify sends them a text and an email with a private approval link. You can also copy the link and send it yourself (iMessage, WhatsApp, AirDrop).

  • 60-second cooldown between resends so we don't spam them
  • Tap Edit contact if you typed the wrong number
  • The link is single-use and tied to your account — keep it private

8c. What your parent sees

Tapping the link opens /parent-approve/{token}. Your parent confirms who you are, reads the consent summary, and signs. Then they're walked through payout setup (Stripe Connect) so earnings can be released to the parent-managed account.

  • No NILify account needed for the parent — the link is enough
  • They can save and come back to finish payout setup later
  • You get a notification the moment each step completes

8d. What unlocks after approval

  • Your public page goes live at www.nilify.ai/{handle}
  • NIL marketplace orders can be accepted and paid out
  • Brand outreach in the inbox unlocks
  • Merch store can sell publicly

Troubleshooting

  • Handle taken — pick one of the suggested alternatives, or add your jersey number / class year.
  • Parent didn't get the text — check the number is correct (Edit contact), wait for the cooldown, then resend. Or Copy link and send it yourself.
  • Avatar upload failed — use a JPG or PNG under 5 MB. Square photos look best.
  • Page still says "private" — both parent steps (consent + payouts) must be green on the dashboard card.
  • Stats look wrong — edit them on the Stats section card; auto-pulled stats update overnight.
