Privacy Policy

NILify is built for student-athletes and their families, many of whom are minors. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Data controller

The data controller for NILify is Nilify LLC, 1 Sansome Street, Suite 1400-100A, PMB 70117, San Francisco, CA 94104. For privacy requests, email hello@nilify.ai.

What we collect

You give us: name, email, phone, date of birth, school, sport, position, height/weight/GPA, photo, film links, social handles, recruiting interests, and (for athletes under 18) a parent/guardian phone number for approval.
We collect automatically: device and browser info, IP address, approximate location (city/country), pages viewed, and product events.
From third parties: publicly available recruiting and roster data we match to programs and athletes.

How we use it

Create and run your athlete page, dashboard, and recruiting tools.
Send verification, login, parent-approval, and account-related messages.
Power AI features (profile writing, outreach drafts, recommendations).
Measure product usage, prevent fraud, and improve performance.
Send service updates and—only with consent—marketing.

What's public vs. private

Public on your athlete page: name, sport, position, school, class year, height, weight, GPA (if added), highlight film/social links, and your photo.
Private: email address, phone numbers, date of birth, parent contact info, payment details, message contents, and analytics.

Who we share it with

We share limited data with processors who run the service on our behalf: managed cloud database, email/SMS providers, payment processor, and analytics. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose data when required by law or to protect people from harm.

AI and your data

See AI Disclosure for details. We do not use your private profile content or messages to train third-party foundation models without consent.

SMS messaging (Twilio)

Users opt in to receive SMS messages from NILify by entering their phone number during account signup on https://nilify.ai and agreeing to receive text messages for account verification, onboarding, and athlete profile notifications. For users under 18, a parent or guardian may also provide their phone number to receive a one-time approval text message before the athlete's profile becomes public.

Users may also opt in by requesting login codes or account notifications through NILify web forms and athlete profile workflows. Message frequency varies based on account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Users can reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help.

We use Twilio to deliver SMS on our behalf. Mobile opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected for SMS are used solely to operate the service (verification, login codes, onboarding, parent approval, and athlete profile notifications).

Children & parental consent

Athletes under 13 must use an account owned by a parent or guardian (COPPA). Athletes 13–17 require parent/guardian SMS approval before their athlete page becomes public. Parents/guardians may contact us at any time to review, edit, or delete a minor's data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to opt out of sale/sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. NILify does not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, use Data Deletion or email hello@nilify.ai.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. After deletion we remove personal data within 30 days from active systems, except limited records we must retain by law (e.g. payment receipts) or for fraud prevention. Backups roll out over time.

Biometric information

NILify does not use facial recognition, voice analysis, fingerprint scanning, retina/iris scanning, or other biometric identifiers, and does not collect or store biometric identifiers as defined under BIPA (Illinois), CUBI (Texas), or similar state laws. If we add a feature that uses biometric data in the future, we will obtain separate written consent before collection.

Security

See Security. No system is 100% secure—please use a strong, unique password.

International transfers

NILify is operated from the United States. By using the service you understand your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our processors operate.

Changes

Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
